This panorama, taken by Christopher Gjevre, captures the Tampa Bay Lightning scoring a goal in an exciting overtime win against the New York Rangers. It all began for the Lightning on October 7, 1992, in front of a sellout crowd at the Florida State Fairgrounds. They made their unforgettable debut with a 7-3 victory against the Campbell Conference Champion Chicago Blackhawks®. This unexpected beginning proved to be a signal of more surprises to come, for a club that has become known as the “Hardest Working Team in the NHL.” The Lightning has the distinction of becoming the first team from the final wave of expansion, as well as the first Sunbelt team to capture the Stanley Cup® Championship.
